CAIRO: The seventh round of bilateral political consultations between Pakistan and Egypt was held here in the Egyptian capital to review cooperation in specific areas.
Special Secretary Mohammad Waheedul Hassan led the Pakistani team, in which Ambassador to Egypt was also included. The Egyptian side was led by Assistant Foreign Minister Yasser Mourad. The two sides expressed mutual desire to further strengthen bonds of fraternity and cooperation that benefitted the people of the two countries.
The special secretary briefed the Egyptian side on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision to promote friendly relations with its neighbours. The Egyptian side elaborated the facilities in the newly-established industrial zones in Egypt and hoped that Pakistani investors would take advantage of the investment opportunities.
They also expressed desire to resume direct flights between Pakistan and Egypt. The two sides underlined the need to convene the next session of the Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad. The commission provides a platform to identify ways and means to expand and strengthen cooperation in political, economic, social and cultural fields.
