LARKANA: Naundero, the hometown of Bhutto leaders, faced 9-hour regular electricity load-shedding during the hot days of Eid ul Azha owing to the sheer negligence of local and district Sepco authorities. Abdul Ghaffar Lashari, in-charge Naundero Grid Station, told reporters on Thursday that the entire load of all feeders was shifted to 132 KVA transmission line (and 66 KVA line was left empty) which overloaded it, so they had to do load-shedding. It is worth adding here that the Federal Ministry of Water & Power, Islamabad, had announced that no forced or announced power outage will be made during Eid days. But, the incompetent administration of Larkana Sepco openly violated these instructions of the ministry without any consideration. Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif in a tweet claimed on Wednesday that 98% urban and 89% rural areas consumers were supplied uninterrupted electricity throughout the country. The minister further claimed that 100% supply was being made to industrial units, but ice factory owners of Naundero rebutted him saying that they have been specifically targeted despite paying all monthly bills regularly including declared and hidden taxes levied in the bills.
